Barcelona might wrap up the La Liga title tonight, when they travel to Catalan rivals Espanyol.
Espanyol are in a tough place. They need three points, as they sit just five ahead of the relegation zone. While at it, they face a Barcelona side in a bullish mood, yet Espanyol themselves have been very shaky.
In the last three league matches, Espanyol suffered straight defeats, the latest ending 3-2 against Leganes.
Barcelona are flying high. Hansi Flick’s men are fresh from a 4-3 win over archrivals Real Madrid. That win opened up a seven-point game at the league summit, and one more win secures the title.
Barcelona will want to do this at their crosstown rivals’ ground, and there is a general feeling they will achieve that. The visitors have five straight wins in the league and are unbeaten in the last 16.
Out of those 16 league matches, they won 14. The high-scoring outcome against Real Madrid is a highlight of their recent form. Barca netted 15 times in their last five matches across all competitions.
