Drama Unfolds as Mercy Chinwo Accused of Involvement in VeryDarkMan’s Arrest

Renowned gospel singer Mercy Chinwo has found herself at the center of a fresh controversy, following allegations of involvement in the arrest of outspoken critic VeryDarkMan (VDM).

VDM’s sudden arrest has already sparked widespread discussion online, with little official information from law enforcement. However, in a new twist, Nollywood producer Stanley Ontop has come forward, alleging that Mercy Chinwo played a role in the arrest.

This comes amid an ongoing legal battle between the gospel singer and VeryDarkMan, after he made remarks concerning her fallout with her former record label boss, Eezee Tee. The lawsuit reportedly demands N1.1 billion in damages.

Stanley Ontop claimed he messaged Mercy Chinwo via Instagram urging her and her husband to advocate for VDM’s release. He alleges that shortly afterward, he was blocked by the singer.

In a bold post, Stanley wrote:

“Mercy Chinwo blocked me on IG last night because I told her and her husband to free VDM. It’s laughable how a minister of God would just block me for saying the truth. Next, they will use police to harass me now, watch.”

The situation continues to generate strong reactions online, with fans and critics split on the matter. While some believe Mercy Chinwo should have stayed out of legal retaliation, others argue she is within her rights to pursue justice if she feels defamed.
