An iconic college football rivalry gets another chapter on Saturday when No. 3 Georgia plays No. 9 Alabama in Atlanta for the SEC Championship. It’s going to be the fifth meeting between these two programs in the SEC Championship Game, which is the second-most common matchup since the conference created the title game in 1992.
The rivalry has gone decidedly the Crimson Tide’s way when trophies are on the line in Atlanta, as Alabama can claim not only a 4-0 record against the Bulldogs in the SEC Championship Game but also won the 2017-18 College Football Playoff National Championship matchup — also in Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
