Controversial Nigerian preacher Oba Solomon has addressed the ongoing uproar surrounding the arrest of social media critic VeryDarkMan (VDM), urging the public to stay calm and await official clarification.

The arrest, which reportedly occurred after VDM visited a GTBank branch with his mother to resolve account issues, has sparked massive backlash. Many online users have accused GTBank of working with the EFCC, prompting trending calls to boycott the bank.

While emotions run high, Oba Solomon has taken a more cautious stance. In a recently shared video, he stated:

“I cannot tell the government to release VDM until I know his offence. Nobody is above the law.”

He went on to highlight the importance of due process and discouraged Nigerians from jumping to conclusions or placing blame on GTBank without clear facts.

“Everybody should calm down and wait till Monday when the EFCC will release the official statement on why he was arrested. If they fail to do that, we can then swear for them,” he added humorously.

Oba Solomon concluded by reminding the public that government agencies have the authority to make arrests and that facts should guide the response to such incidents.
